James “Jim” P. Holbritter, 74

James “Jim” P. Holbritter, 74, of Lancaster, went home to be with our Lord on Friday, June 7, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Manhattan, NY he was the son of the late Thelma (Zellers) and Norman J. Holbritter. He was the loving husband to Helena C. (Stefo) for over 53 years.
In addition to his wife, Jim is survived by his children: James P. Holbritter, II (Paulette) of Ephrata, Christopher M. Holbritter (Allison) of Mt. Wolf, Joseph N. Holbritter of Lititz and Kacey M. Ober (Jeff) of East Petersburg; his 7 grandchildren: Hannah, Brendan, Bryce, Matthew, Austin, Sophia and Dylan. He was preceded in death by his brother William Holbritter.
Jim started his career at Grumman Aerospace Corp. in Long Island NY but has been in management in the mobile home industry for over 40 years, retiring from Redman Homes in Ephrata in 2018. He loved driving his Corvette, going to car shows and restoring antique trunks in his spare time. Jim was a member of St. Philip Apostle Church, and a 3rd degree Mason. He served as a Captain in the Mastic Beach Fire Department in NY. Jim was known to move mountains for anyone. Jim’s generosity will be remembered by all who knew and loved him.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions in Jim’s name be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl, Memphis, TN 38105.
Family and friends will be received from 6PM – 8PM on Monday, June 10, 2019 at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home and Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at 10AM at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Millersville Mennonite Cemetery, Millersville, PA.

I am so sorry to learn of Jim’s death and to discover it too late to attend the service. We appreciated Jim and Helen as our neighbors when they lived in Clay. He was always a kind, friendly and encouraging person who trusted in the Lord! We pray God’s peace to the family in this time of loss.

I am so sorry to hear of Jim’s passing. I worked with Jim in Leola when he worked for Liberty Homes. Jim was always top notch and a very caring and professional man.
