Helen Vanberg, 97

September 02, 2015

Helen Vanberg quietly passed away on Wednesday morning, September 2, 2015, at Moravian Manor in Lititz, Pennsylvania. She was 97 years of age.
Helen Vanberg was born Helen Mary Stack on February 7, 1918, in New York City to Stephen Stack and Mary (Shirlee) Stack of England.
Attending Connecticut College for Women, Mrs. Vanberg later worked as an executive assistant for the Parsons School of Design in New York City, where she later met and married Bart Vanberg on November 15, 1971.
The Vanbergs lived in Connecticut and New York City and worked together at Mr. Vanberg’s family business in Manhattan.
After vacationing for many years in Smoketown, Pennsylvania, the Vanbergs moved to Lititz, where they lived the remainder of their lives. Mrs. Vanberg’s husband preceded her in death on September 19, 2006.
Mrs. Vanberg was a member of the Lititz Moravian Congregation, an ardent supporter of Linden Hall School for Girls in Lititz (where she received an honorary degree), and was a generous donor to many other charitable causes within the greater Lititz and Ephrata communities. Mrs. Vanberg was an avid supporter of the Anne Brossman Sweigart Charitable Foundation of Ephrata, Pennsylvania, having had a long-term friendship with Mrs. Sweigart.
Contributions in memory of Mrs. Vanberg may be made to the Good Samaritan Fund, Lititz Moravian Congregation, 8 Church Square, Lititz, PA 17543.
A memorial service is to be held at the Mary Dixon Memorial Chapel on the campus of Linden Hall School for Girls, 10 Church Square, Lititz, PA, on Friday, September 18, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. Additional parking may be found in the parking lot of Lititz Moravian Church.
