Condolences to the Family

August 13, 2018

Helen was a first cousin of my mother, Helen Wise Brown.  My maternal grandmother, Amanda Kopp Wise Givler – Uncle Christ’s sister, was affectionately known as Aunt Amanda to many in the extended Kopp family.  My mother corresponded with Helen while she was serving as a missionary nurse in Africa and sent packages of goods she knew were needed.  When Helen Kopp returned home the last time, she gave to my mother a white ‘porky’ hat embroidered with the name Helen in red letters.  Friends in Africa gave it to their missionary nurse who in turn gave it to my mother, Helen Brown.  My last visit to Helen was a couple years ago when she was living at Evergreen on Lincoln Highway East.  I was sharing family pictures with her, but her vision loss was too great for her to see them.  I was the recipient of some of her lovely stationery with pictures she took on her walks to enjoy nature.  She was truly a good woman serving our Lord abroad and at home.  All or you have my sympathy.     Sincerely, Bill and La Verne Brown Hyman.
