Georgene May Lefever, 76

Georgene May Lefever, 76, of Manheim Twp., passed away on Wednesday, February 6, 2019, at UPMC Pinnacle, Lancaster. Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Irvin Sittler and the late Elizabeth K. (Ashton) Horning. Georgene was the beloved wife of John E. Lefever, and together they shared 58 years of marriage.
Georgene graduated from J.P. McCaskey High School. She enjoyed working at the family greenhouse business where she also served as bookkeeper. Georgene was well-known for her devotion to her loved ones; she especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had an innate ability to connect with people and impacted the lives of many. Her family will always remember her for her selflessness and kind-hearted nature, as she was truly one of life’s greatest blessings. Relatives and friends are thankful to have had the opportunity to love and be loved by Georgene. She was a special person and will be greatly missed.
Georgene was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. In addition to her husband, John, she is survived by her children: Cindy Walters and her husband Randy of Lititz, John Lefever, Jr. and his wife Julie of Lancaster, Scott Lefever and his wife Joni of Lititz, and Nancy Webb and her husband Jeffrey of Elizabethtown. Also surviving are her grandchildren: Heidi Boll, Holly Gebhard, Rachel Hershey, Adam and Andrew Lefever, Megan Boal, and Hannah and Erik Webb; and great-grandchildren: Ethan and Collin Boll, and Aiden, Anthony, Charlotte and Pierce Lefever. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Stephen Lefever who passed in 1997.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Georgene’s memory may be offered to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or www.stjude.org.

I was deeply sadden to learn of Georgene s passing. I wish I would have had more time with her. She was a dear sweet lady and loved by all.My heartfelt sympathy to the family.

Georgene to my dearest friend with the sweetest soul. I will miss all of our talks, laughs and stories that we shared. Your arms were always open for one of your special hugs.
