George G. (Huck) Finley, Jr., 86

George G. (Huck) Finley, Jr., 86, of Lititz, PA, formerly of Philadelphia, passed away at his residence on Saturday, December 19, 2015.
Husband of the late Veronica McKenzie Finley, who passed away in 2005. Born in Philadelphia, to the late George G. Sr. and Margaret Finley.
He retired, as an inspector, after 42 years for the B&O Railroad.
He loved to sing, was very patriotic, and was a mentor to many kids in his Philadelphia neighborhood, through sports and counseling.
George was a Navy veteran of World War II until 1948, reenlisting in the Army in 1949, during the Korean War.
George is survived by his children: Michael, George III (Joanne), Eddie (Rosie), and Veronica Ling (Dr. David); his 9 grandchildren and his 6 great grandchildren.
Friends will be received on Monday, December 28, 2015 from 9-10:30AM at the Charles F. Snyder Jr Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11AM at St. James Catholic Church, 505 Woodcrest Ave., Lititz, PA. Interment with full military honors in St Joseph New Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions in George’s memory to the Wounded Warriors Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.

My grandfather was an amazing man. He was full of life and humor all of the time. He will be deeply missed by my children Alyssa, Jayden and Xavier. I’m glad i was there with you and It brings me peace that you went peacefully. I know your in heaven dancing in the clouds with Mom-mom. I love you and will never forget the love you have shown me and our whole family. Goodnight pop-pop I love you!

I was saddened to hear that my old friend Huck Finley had passed away. Huck and I had many good times together in our late teens and early twenties but lost contact when I moved to Texas. The funeral notice brought back many pleasant memories. My condolences to Huck’s family. John Dockray  Villanova, Pa.
