November 14, 2018

My sincere condolences to the entire Essis family. I was quite shocked to read about Frank’s passing. I used to work at the store in Harrisburg years ago and can always remember him coming in after school to visit his father. I also remember the talk of him always wanting to be a doctor. From what i have read on this page it is nice to see he achieved his goal and was an extremely caring man. I only came across this because i am in need of another knee surgery and had friends that dealt with Frank and had nothing but good things to say.
Again i want to express my condolences to the entire family.

April 24, 2018

To all of Dr. Essis’s family and friends,   This is truly a shock.  I saw in the paper the other day, Estates to be settled. Dr. Frank Essis.  Couldn’t be my Doctor, I thought.  Knew my annual wellness visit was coming up soon, I’ll  ask.   Oh my, It was him.  I’m so sorry.   He made me feel so good. I thought of Dr. Essis as a  big country boy.  He was so caring of everyone around him, you couldn’t help to like him.  My prayers  are for all of you.  Remember, he’s always watching over you thru the windows of Heaven, just as our heavenly Father watches over us.  Joyce Stoltzfus

April 09, 2018

Dr. Essis operated on my mom when she broke her hip at the end of October. I was so impressed with how he treated my 94 year old mother and how he spoke to the family.  He was so down-to-earth and so genuine in his well chosen words. He had a rare ability to put everyone at ease with his humility.
I was so shocked to learn of his passing, and wanted to send my condolences to your husband, brother, son and father. I met him again in January at a follow up visit for my mom. Once again, he was such a real and kind man. I just wanted you to know that he made a positive impact on all of our lives, in his ability as a surgeon, but more importantly in his humanity.
God bless you in the coming months.

Dear Essis family,
I’m so sorry for your loss. Coach Essis was a GREAT GREAT Coach. If it wasn’t for him I wouldn’t have half the basketball knowledge I have now. One thing I remember about him is when he would always say box out or butt in his gut and make him fly backwards. He was also a great man. Frank would always be there for all three of his children, Juliana, Frank III, Michael. He was always a happy, supportive, and encouraging guy. He was a great doctor. If it wasn’t for him there would be lots of people now that would be in lots of pain. Just want to say that I will be happy to help with anything you need and I’m praying for all four of you and Coach Essis’ soul. May God Bless your family with love and peace.
With Love and Kindness,
Hayden Weiss

We are so saddened by the abrupt passing of Dr. Essis. He was the wonderful surgeon that repaired both my shattered arms after a drunk driver turned my life upside down the week of my wedding.  He had such a calm demeanor about him that put us at great ease. His legacy will continue to live on through his numerous patients that he has helped and his 3 children. We pray for comfort and peace for you in your time of grieving. May his memory be eternal.

I am sorry that I did not get to know him better. Our sincere wishes are with you and your family. Kathy and Richard Ressler

Thank you, Essis family, for sharing this man with us, for providing the foundation that he obviously had to become such a good physician. I knew him only as one of his patients, but he seemed to be everything that a patient hopes for in a doctor: intelligent, confident, humble, warm, never in a hurry, always in control and always caring for his patient. My deepest sympathy is extended to you. James M. Reeder

March 12, 2018

To all the Essis family,
What a shock this is. My heart goes out to all of you. I enjoyed hearing about Dr. Essis from Frank Sr., whenever I visited the store, and my father, Dr. Richard S. Wagner, Jr., spoke highly of him, too.  Sending you sympathy and comfort during this tender time.

“He was always there to help his loved ones, not in the way they wanted, but the way they needed.”
This statement is the truth…no matter the time that passed that we had talked, he was always there for me. Told me when I was right and when I was being stupid, but he cared all the same. He would draw this picture of a circle, and put his initials in the center, FMEs world, he’d say…then Lauren, and the kids initials, his brother. Dad, the family…others,  in and outside the cirlce…then I’d watch him write mine. I made it inside the circle…that has always meant the world to me, bc it wasn’t easy to do.
Frank, thank you for allowing me to be part of your circle, your world…for caring, directing and mending me…I will forever miss you
Lauren, JJ, Frankie, Michael…
My deepest sympathies, prayers and love to you and the rest of the family!!!
Love Always…
