Frank A. Hames
Frank was born June 1, 1922 in Union, SC and went to be with the Lord on February 15, 2012 in the Willow Valley Health Center in Lancaster, PA. He moved at a young age to South Jersey. Frank attended Penns Grove Regional High School where he met his future wife, Florence, when they sang together in a school musical.
He attended Goldey Beacom Business School and then enlisted in the Navy. Frank served in the Philadelphia recruiting station for 4 years as a Yeoman 1st class.
Florence and Frank were married in 1943 and Frank began a 60 year career with the same company-first in Pure Carbonic, then Airco Industrial Gases, then finally as VP of Human Resources in BOC. During that time, he was transferred to Chicago and then New York City.
Frank’s interests included golf, music, travel, and bowling. He also served on boards for Nyack and Houghton colleges in New York state.
Survivors besides his wife Florence include 3 children: Carolyn Langford (Carlton) of Deltona, FL, Richard (Rhea) of Westerville, OH and Lawrence (Donna) of Brattleboro, VT. Also to cherish his memory,7 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and one brother, Earl Hames of West Palm Beach, FL.
Frank donated his body to Anatomy Gifts Registry for research. A Memorial Service is planned for February 25 at 1 PM in the Johnson Auditorium, Manor North at Willow Valley.
