Esther H. Hartman, 96

Esther H. Hartman, 96, of 3001 Lititz Pike, Lancaster, PA passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 9, 2014. She was the daughter of the late Allen B. and Nora (Minnich) Heagy.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Harold E. Kettering in 1973, her second husband, Kenneth I. Hartman in 2002 and her son, H. Michael Kettering in 1976.

She enjoyed her many years in her role as a pastor’s wife and her 26 years of teaching in four different states. She enjoyed reading, hiking, camping and crocheting. She enjoyed visiting and volunteering over 35 years at Lancaster General Hospital and Brethren Village.

She is survived by her son Joel H. Kettering, husband of Penny Kettering of Manheim; daughter Mary L. Wolf, wife of Leland R. Wolf of Dayton, Ohio; two step-children, Stefan W. Hartman of Lancaster and Dawn S. Hartman of Brethren Village. Also surviving is one brother, Donald M. Heagy, husband of Sara Heagy of Lancaster. She had six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held at Brethren Village Chapel on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at 1:00p.m. In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation to Hospice & Community Care, P.O. Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125.

Our heartfelt sympathy to the entire family at this time.   We were glad to have known  Esther from our very early days in this country and fondly
