Erma L. Troop, 92
Erma L. Troop, 92, entered into rest in Lancaster, PA on Thursday, February 16, 2006.
Born in Altoona, on February 7, 1914, she was the daughter of the late Homer and Susan Wysong Cameron, and the wife of the late Thomas Troop.
Mrs. Troop worked for twenty-three years as a foster mother for the Youth and Children’s Services in Lancaster. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Lancaster.
Erma is survived by a son, Gordon R. married to Julie Van Zandt; three daughters, Tina Marie married to Terry Heagy, Sue Ellen Troop, and Dorothy married to Robert Manarch all of Lancaster; two stepdaughters, Patty and Shirley Troop, both of Lancaster; and two foster children, Dawn Wertz of Brownstown and Bonnie Felker of Lancaster; 14 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and 10 great great grandchildren. Sons, Paul and Ronald Van Zandt, and stepson, Thomas Troop II preceded her in death. She was the last of her immediate family.
A funeral service will be held at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home Inc., 414 E. King St., Lancaster, PA on Tuesday at 8PM. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6PM until the time of service. A committal service will be held on Wednesday at 1PM at the Carson Valley Cemetery, Duncansville, PA. Please omit flowers. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the First Baptist Church, 612 N. Duke St., Lancaster, PA 17602.
