Emil Matzko, 82

Emil Matzko, 82, of Lancaster, died Monday morning at Moravian Manor after a lengthy battle with Parkinsons Disease..

He was the husband of Delphine V. Doyle Matzko, with whom he celebrated 59 years of marriage this past June 10^th. Born in Lykens, PA, Emil was the son of the late Michael and Anna Ivanko Matzko.

He was the owner and operator of the Emil Matzko Barber Shop in Lancaster for 50 years, retiring in 1990. He had also worked for 10 years from 1978 to 1987 at the Landisville Elementary School.

Emil was a member or Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, where he had served as an usher for 40 years. He was also a 25 year member of the former Wheatland Lions Club. He enjoyed swimming, jogging and bicycling.

He was a US Army veteran of World War II, serving with the 3^rd Army Signal Corps in the Rhineland, Ardennes, and Central European campaigns.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a sister, Emma Mazisko of Hamilton Square NJ, and by several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 3 sisters.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Mass on Thursday at 10:30AM at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 554 W. Walnut St., Lancaster, PA, with interment to follow at St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery.
