Elsie M. “Auntie” Maysilles, 94
Elsie M. “Auntie” Maysilles, 94, of Washington Boro, passed away on Sunday, April 22, 2012 at the Susquehanna Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Columbia.
Born on February 27, 1918, she was the daughter of the late George L. and Emma M. Metzger Maysilles. She was the granddaughter of the late Anna Elizabeth Herr Metzger.
Elsie graduated from Millersville Normal School, now Penn Manor. She had been a member of Highville United Methodist Church, where she was involved in the Ladies Sunday School Class and was the secretary for many years.
In her younger years, she had worked on many farms.
Elsie enjoyed cooking, sewing, her flower beds, and find-a-word puzzles. Throughout the years, she enjoyed her Chihuahuas, Taffy, Tina, Tiny, and Nellie.
She is the last of her immediate family. She was predeceased by her sisters, Gladys Shenk and Elva Troop and by her brothers, Norman Maysilles and Calvin Maysilles. She has been lovingly cared for by her oldest niece Cinda Lee Maysilles LaCon while at Susquehanna Valley and is survived by 3 generations of nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received on Thursday, April 26, 2012 from 1030-11AM at Highville United Methodist Church, 3327 River Rd., Conestoga, PA, with the Funeral Service to follow at 11AM, the Rev John Miller officiating. Interment in the adjoining church cemetery.
