Ellen Hein, 64

Ellen A. Hein, 64, of Lancaster, PA, passed away on April 17, 2019 at her home. Born in Wilkes-Barre, PA, she was the daughter of the late John Lewis and Jadwiga Twardowska. Ellie was the loving wife of George F. Hein. BeBe and BoBo shared 17 years of marriage.

Ellie worked and enjoyed her job in Early Childhood Intervention. She was very strong in her faith in The Lord and attended Hempfield United Methodist Church. Ellie enjoyed photography, ceramics and loved writing cards. She was also a “walking dictionary” and made sure that all of her writings were spelled correct.

Surviving in addition to her husband, George, is a brother, Walter Lewis, husband of Dot; a sister, Barbara Lewis; sisters-in-law, Judith Titolo and Louise Hein; many nieces & nephews: Katie Lewis, Nick Lewis, Phillip Lewis, John Lewis, Gabby Lewis and Gabriella Lewis; her cousins: Anne Marie Strimpek, wife of Jim, Pattie “Matilda” Lewis and Linda “Lucy” Lewis; and her best friend, Jill Besckey.

Family and friends will be received from 10-11 AM with a Celebration of Ellen’s Life to begin at 11 AM on Friday, April 26, 2019 at Hempfield United Methodist Church, 3050 Marietta Ave, Lancaster, PA 17601. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Ellen’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to Mind of Christ Ministries, P.O. Box 85, Nutley, NJ 07110.
