Eileen McNiff, 84
May 17, 2019
Eileen O’Connor McNiff, age 84, died at the Masonic Village Medical Center, May 17, 2019, after decades of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease. Her husband and a Hospice nurse were present when she passed. Eileen was born in New York City to John and Mary O’Connor, the second oldest of five children and the first to pass. Those surviving are Marian O’Connor, John O’Connor, Nancy Rafferty and Carol Murray.
Eileen married William L. McNiff, in 1957 and they have four children: William C. McNiff (Tracy), Kathrine Markley (John), Laura Kline (Joel), and Maureen Gamber (Mark). They gave Eileen 8 grandchildren: Emily McNiff, Jack Gamber, Connor McNiff, Alecia McNiff, Henry Franco (deceased), Rachel, Alexandra and Evan Kline. The McNiff and O’Connor extended family is large, too many to list, but they all knew and loved her, and she the same.
Eileen was a woman of rare beauty and an extraordinary capacity to give love and show kindness. She was always there for those that needed her. It is these inherent qualities that makes it difficult for her loved ones to overcome their sense of loss, but knowing that she no longer suffers will go a long way toward easing their grief.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on May 31st, 2019 at 11AM at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 601 E. Delp Road, Lancaster, PA 17601, with visitation from 10-11AM and a luncheon after the service. In lieu of flowers you may make a donation to the St. John Neumann Building Fund at the above address. Arrangements entrusted to Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543 717-560-5100

We are so very sorry for your loss. Your sweet Eileen was a friend of our Mom, Elaine Hammer, who we lost just a short month ago. Eileen came down to visit Mom in her last few days and was so kind and caring and I am so glad we got to know her even for a very brief time. Our sincere sympathy.
