Edward S. Kowalski, Sr., 67

Edward S. Kowalski, Sr., 67, died at his Manor TWP home on Wednesday, June 21 2017. He was born in Lancaster, son of the late Irene (McDonald) Kowalski and George C. Heiserman. Ed and his wife, Marie (Miller) Kowalski, celebrated 48 years of marriage last February 25th.

A 1967 graduate of J. P. McCaskey High School, Ed worked at the former Armstrong Carpet Plant and then as a mechanic for Kellogg’s. He was the secretary for the American Federation of Grain Millers, Lancaster Chapter.

Ed was a loving and caring man. He was a great husband, father and grandfather who provided well for his family. He would do anything for people. Ed was a huge sports fan, especially the Steelers, he was an avid bowler and he enjoyed golf. Ed was a member of the Eight Ward Beneficial Association and was active in New Life Assembly of God as an usher and greeter.

In addition to his wife Marie, Ed is survived by their children, Edward S. Kowalski, Jr., husband of Gail (Garnett) and their children Kurtis Edward and Kara Elizabeth of Plymouth, Michael L. Kowalski and his son Nicholas Parker of Luzerne and Crystal Sharpe and her son Lakai of Spring Lake, MI; and two brothers, Stanley Kowalski, husband of Peggy of Manheim and Henry Kowalski, husband of Marie of Strasburg. Ed was predeceased by his sisters Irene and Gracie Kowalski.

Viewings will be held 6 to 8 PM Sunday, June 25th and 10 to 11 AM Monday, June 26th at New Life Assembly of God. The funeral will take place 11 AM on Monday, with Pastor Chris Foster and Pastor Moses Baker officiating. Interment in Riverview Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to New Life Assembly of God, 1991 Old Philadelphia Pike, Lancaster, PA 17602.
