Eddie K. Barton, 56

Eddie K. Barton, 56, of 108 Olde Field Dr., Lititz, died Wednesday morning, January 10, 2007, after a lengthy battle with cancer.

He was the husband of Angela S. Diroff Barton, with whom he celebrated 36 years of marriage this past May 2nd. Born in Middlesboro, KY, he was the son of the late Ed and Ellen Opal Mathis Barton.

Eddie had worked as a quality engineer for Case New Holland North America Division for 34 years.

He was a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church, where he had been a member of the RCIA program and had served as a Eucharistic Minister of the Holy Eucharist.

Eddie was an avid golfer, and a member of the Case New Holland golf league, he loved to work in his garden and yard, and was a 1979 graduate of Bowling Green University in Ohio.

A US Army veteran, Eddie served as a Specialist 5th class, being stationed at a NATO base in Germany during the Vietnam War.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Edward Matthus  married to Patricia J. Barton of Pleasanton, CA; Andrew L. married to Danielle E. Barton of Ballwin, MO; Kate A. Barton of Lancaster; and by a grandson, Leopold M. Barton. He is also survived by 3 sisters, all of Monroe, MI: Brenda L. married to Larry Lymond, Patti J. married to Robert Gramlick, and Ellen Opal  married to Robert Huey; 2 brothers, all of Monroe: Phillip W.  married to Penny Barton, and Steve M. Barton; and a brother-in-law, Frank Lucas of Monroe, MI.  He was preceded in death by a sister, Diane G. Lucas.

Friends will be received from the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home and Chapel, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA on Sunday from 1-4PM and 7-9PM with the Rosary being recited at 830PM. Friends may call again on Monday from 10-11AM at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 601 E. Delp Rd., Lancaster, 17601, with the Mass to follow at 11AM. Interment in St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery. Flowers will be received, or contributions may be made in Eddie’s memory to St. John Neumann Catholic Church, or Hospice of Lancaster County, 685 Good Dr., Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125.
