Dr. Robert “Bob” Lenhart, Jr., 62

February 22, 2016

Dr. Robert “Bob” Lenhart Jr., age 62 of Lancaster passed away unexpectedly on February 22, 2016.
Born in Lancaster he was the son of Clara M Lenhart of Lancaster and the late Robert L Lenhart Sr. He celebrated 32 years of marriage with his wife, Heather M Lenhart on February 18, 2016.

Bob graduated from McCaskey High School in 1971. He studied at Millersville University and graduated from Cleveland Chiropractic College, Kansas City MO in 1976 as a Doctor of Chiropractic Medicine.
Bob was self employed as a Chiropractor for 40 years. He was best known as “Dr. Bob” to his patients. Those who were blessed to be his patient also became his friend. Dr Bob had a way of making each patient feel relaxed and took the time to listen to them. He was uniquely connected to each of his patients, treating not only their aches and pains but their lives as well. There was an infusion of humor or a fishing story with each visit. Bob shared a deep interest in homeopathic medicine and nutrition.

Bob had a love of fishing. He enjoyed Bass fishing at Black Lake in NY, trout fishing in Lancaster County and surf fishing in Hatteras NC. He will forever be missed in Hatteras, NC where many great memories and fish stories were made. In Hatteras he enjoyed smoking swishers sweets while fishing and socializing with neighbors. He enjoyed many outdoor activities and was active in environmental conservation.

To know Bob was to love him. He was a true friend who was respected and admired for loyalty and gentle nature.

He loved a good cup of coffee and enjoyed going out for Sunday morning breakfasts with his family.

Bob was a member of the Unitarian Church in Lancaster.

In addition to his wife Heather, and mother, Clara, Bob will be greatly missed by his sons, Matthew R and Adam M Lenhart both of Lancaster, Mother in Law, Patsy A Williams, Mt Joy, Sister in law, Mary C Bouder and husband, Dan, Manheim and Brother in law, Michael P Williams and wife, Denise, Manheim.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Bob’s Celebration of Life Friday, February 26, 2016 at Charles F Snyder, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz PA 17543. There will be a viewing from 9:30AM-11:30AM with the service beginning at 11:30AM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent in Bob’s name to Lancaster County Conservancy 117 West End Ave, Lancaster PA 17603 or Hospice & Community Care, 685 Good Dr., PO Box 4125, Lancaster PA 17604.

All of my love, thoughts, and prayers go to Mrs. Lenhart, Matthew, Adam, the family & friends!  Bob was a dear friend and client for many years.   We would talk and laugh while planning their yearly vacations to warm, sunny beach destinations for him and Heather.  Then upon their return, we would again talk about the many highlights of their trip.  He always spoke of his family with such genunine love.  Such a caring, loving man, who was dedicated to treating everyone he came in contact with like they were the only person in the world when he was talking to them.  I am in a state of shock in hearing of his passing.  May God wrap his loving arms around Heather, the boys, family & friends during this difficult time.

Heather and Family,
It was with deep regret that I learned of Bob’s passing.  He was a good friend and colleague.  Every time that I was away on vacation, he would graciously cover for me.  About 3 weeks ago, we had the opportunity to treat each other in his office.  He will be missed tremendously. Our prayers are with you and your entire family.  You have my sincere and deepest sympathy.

Dear Dr Lenhart’s Family,
I was shocked and saddened to learn of Dr. Lenhart’s passing. He was a kind and gentle man with an exceptional “bedside manner”. He would always laugh at my attempts at humor and jokes, always adding his own punchline. I always felt incredibly upbeat and healthy leaving his office after my appointments. Physically as well as emotionally. I was blessed to be his patient. He will be missed! May God’s undying love bring peace and comfort to all of you at this difficult time.

Dear Mrs. Lenhart, Matthew and Adam – Dr. Bob was my chiropractor from 1988 (When I first arrived in Lancaster from W PA and put my back out of place moving…) until about two years ago.   He was  kind, calm, and dedicated professional.  He truly cared about the total well-being of his patients and his patients’ families.   He remembered details about you from one month to the next that most people would forget.   He had a deep respect and  love for homeopathic treatments, politics, nature, fishing, the environment and, most of all, for his family.   This was evident in the glimpses of his life that he shared.   Please accept my sincere condolences on his passing.   He will be missed by many, but not forgotten.   Thinking of all of you as you move through this difficult time in life.            Meg Lutz

February 24, 2016

Dear Family and Friends, I am so deeply sorry to hear about your loss.  We all want to spend our lives with the ones we love and death gets in the way of that.  Robert will be missed, but not forgoten because Jesus said at John 5:28, 29 that there will be a resurrection.  This means that Robert will be given a fresh new start with the prospect of living forever without death anymore (Psalm 37:29; Revelation 21:3, 4).  I hope that these promises found in the Bible will bring some comfort to all of you during this difficult time.  Again I am so sorry for your loss.  R. Mathews
