Words will never fully express the grief over the loss of our dear Dotti. Talented, funny and such a joy to be with she brightened every day she appeared at the shop to weave and spin. When she was there the hours there were filled with laughter. What a wonderful friend! It was such an honor to have shared with her over these past years. God bless your family! She is greatly missed.

Dom—I was so sorry to hear of Dotti’s passing. Please accept my sincere condolences. It is so difficult, especially when  two people have spent so many years together. Bruce passed four weeks after our 50th. May God bless you and your family at this time and always.

I was so sad when I saw Dotti’s obituary this morning. She is a person I have always admired and for whom I felt a great affinity. We seemed to have so many similar values and interests. I always wished our paths would have crossed more often. She was so real, so natural. She had such an appreciation for nature .. animals, plants, all of it. And such an accomplished photographer and artist. I so admired the way she never let any grass grow under her feet. I certainly don’t need to tell you all how special and extraordinary she was.
But we saw very litttle of each other. Usually, it’s someone you see a lot of, do a lot with, that leaves a hole in your soul when they depart, and yet Dottie leaves a hole in mine because of who she was and what she stood for.
My heart goes out you Dom and Duane, and to your whole family. I’ll keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

Dear Don,
I knew Dottie was ill through Barbara Maley and learned from Liz Jones that she just died.  I am so sorry!  I remember well our horse days many years ago and I attribute my beginning interest in photography to Dottie who took me on jaunts with camera in hand.  I couldn’t imagine then that I would end up in art school and marry Grant, a photographer.  It seems like yesterday that Dottie and I would ride, then end up in Lititz for lunch (oyster stew at Bingie’s was the norm). I have so many memories of so many times.  I send my heartfelt empathy and sympathy.  I  feel I am a different person today for having known her, and you.  Conrad Nelson
