Dorothy Jane Beck, 87

Dorothy Jane Beck, 87, of Lancaster formerly of York, PA, passed away peacefully at Conestoga View Nursing and Rehabilitation on Saturday, September 29, 2018. Born in Dublin, OH, she was a daughter of the late Howard A. and Sylvia Charlotte (Dublin) Stutzman. Dorothy was the beloved wife of the late Robert Harry Beck, with whom she shared over 55 years of marriage.
Dorothy worked at Harley Davidson, in York, PA until her retirement. She was a member of Bird-In-Hand Methodist Church. Dorothy enjoyed teaching Sunday School and also was very active in the Reform Party. She also enjoyed being a Girl Scout Leader, but most of all enjoyed spending time with her family.
A loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Dorothy is survived by her son Robert H. Beck and his wife Edwina of Cincinnati, OH, Sylvia Beck Williams and her husband David of Norfolk, VA and her son Phillip Erik Beck of Lancaster; four grandchildren, Morgan and Hanna Beck and Charlotte (Thomas) Sykes and Emily (David) Langford; and two great-grandchildren: Jackson and John. In addition to her parents and husband, Dorothy was predeceased by her siblings: Donna Jean and Howard A. Stutzman, Jr. Dorothy will be remembered for her great faith and loving spirit.
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at 10:30AM, on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at Bird in Hand Methodist Church, 2620 Old Philadelphia Pike, Bird In Hand, Pennsylvania. Dorothy will be laid to rest privately next to her husband, in the Bird in Hand Methodist Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Dorothy’s memory may be made to Bird in Hand Methodist Church, address above.
