Condolences to the Family

I had the great pleasure of meeting Dorothy & her loving family, when Philip her son, took me to dinner when they all lived @ 15th & Tasker in 1968 . A huge 3 story home , she was such a good cook, always in a sweet mood. I spent many years, trimming Dorothea’s bright red hair, Ernies, playing cards, darts with the uncles, It was a joy for me to read that she lived to be 92. After Philip passed away, I lost contact with many of them, I went with him for many years & he married Carole a very lovely lady that I knew well.

I know it is not easy to lose your mother, no matter how old you are. I remember her homemade raviolis and pizzelles(sp). I believe they are now a family tradition. Your mother and father are fondly remembered by me and my immediate family. I am glad I knew her and your family. Please accept my deepest condolences  on your loss!

I had the honor of knowing and caring for Dorothea while working at Conestoga View.  She had a contagious smile and enjoyed walking all around the place.  She would get so excited over cherrios, chocolate ice cream,  and pizza like nobody that I have ever seen before.  She enjoyed giving and getting hugs from those that she cared for and would tell them that she loved them.  I called her my half pint and she would just laugh at me and say “yea”.  I am so deeply sorry for her loss and just want you to know that she will be greatly missed by many who had the pleasure of personally knowing her.  When you look up into the sky and see the stars Dorothea will be the brightest star up there.  Blessing and prayers to your family and may God carry you through this time of sorrow.  She now has her wings.  God Bless, Debbie Hoffstead

It was my pleasure to have had the opportunity to serve and to get to know Dorothea while working at Brethren.
Dorothea would bring laughter and joy each time she entered the bank.
She shared her great love for her children, the sorrow at the loss of her husband and the joy her grandchildren brought into her life.   Even though struggles arose she always tried to walk in love and joy.  I know her laughter would light up our office.  I looked forward to her visits.
I had the privilege of knowing her girls, Doreen and Dorothea.  They love their mom so much and did everything they could to help her enjoy life.  What a blessing they were to her.
I am deeply sorry for your loss, yet so happy you have such wonderful memories as I do.
Sincerely,  Lillian Dolbow
