Dolores M. “Lori” Dougherty, 66

April 21, 2019

Dolores M. “Lori” Dougherty, 66, of Manheim went home to be with the Lord on Easter Sunday, April 21, 2019 at Manor Care – Lebanon. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Florence A. (Striggle) and James J. Dougherty Sr and the wife of the late, L. Hanks Somerall, Jr.

Lori was a 1970 graduate of Lancaster Catholic High School. She was a long-time employee of Johnson & Johnson where she worked as a packaging generalist. A devout Catholic, Lori attended St. Leos and St. John Neumann. She loved gardening and experiencing nature. She would often walk around parks and take motorcycle rides to see the fall foliage. Lori enjoyed going to craft shows and collecting art from local artists. Lori would often take trips down to Florida where she would soak up the sun and drink freshly squeezed orange juice. For Lori, her family was her priority. She always put her son, Patrick, first. Throughout her life, Lori exhibited unending strength and resolve. She faced adversity head on and always pushed to ensure that goals she set were accomplished.

She is survived by her loving son, Patrick Dougherty, his wife Elissa and their son Brayden Quinn, and her long-time companion William Felpel. Lori is also survived by her siblings; James J. Dougherty Jr (Anne), Bruce P. Striggle (Sarah), Dennis M. Dougherty, John D. Dougherty (Gloria), Linda E. Koller (Robert), Gerardyn A. Schreck (C. Victor), and Elizabeth A. Szelewa (Mark), many nieces and nephews, sister-in-law Rebecca Somerall Weiss. She is preceded in death by sister-in-law Geraldine wife of Dennis.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, May 3, 2019 at 11:00am at St. John Neumann Catholic Church located at 601 E Delp Rd, Lancaster, PA 17601. Guests will be received prior to the service starting at 10:00am.
