Dennis S. Eberly, 65
Dennis S. Eberly, 65, of Manheim, PA, went home to be with Jesus on December 10, 2012 at Hospice and Community Care in Mount Joy.
He was the husband of Pennie G. Zohn Eberly, with whom he would have celebrated 39 years of marriage this coming January 19th. Dennis was the love of Pennie’s life, and they loved to travel together, with their favorite destinations being Hawaii and Aruba. Born in West Reading, PA, he was the son of Margaret Manko Eberly of Ephrata and the late Leroy Eberly.
Dennis had been the General Manager/Point of Sale Administrator of Living Waters Theater and Sight & Sound Ministries for 20 years. Previously he worked for WLAN Radio for 13 years as Chief Engineer and WIOV Radio as Chief Engineer/Operations Manager for 11 years. Dennis was a 1966 graduate of the Radio Electronic Television Schools in Upper Darby, PA and in 1967 he graduated from the Cleveland Institute of Electronics.
He was a United States Air Force veteran, serving during the Vietnam War.
He was very proud of being a licensed pilot, taking lessons and being certified in a Cessna 150 at the Lancaster Airport. He was very passionate about Penn State football. He enjoyed all things electronic. Dennis always wanted to learn and problem solve.
In addition to his wife Pennie, he is survived by his mother, Margaret Manko Eberly of Ephrata, his daughter, Nicole C. married to Bryan S. Sensenig of Ephrata and his brother Randy married to Noreen Eberly of Bowie, MD.
Dennis will be greatly missed by family and friends.
A celebration of Dennis’ life will be held at a later time in the spring with an announcement at a future date. My condolences go to the family of Dennis. I knew him for many years as a fellow broadcast engineer. After not seeing him for years, I recently ran into him several times around town. I did not realize he had been ill. Dennis was really one of the good engineers. He will be missed.

I didn’t know Dennis as well as other Contact Center Employees, we would say hello in passing when he would come in for a meeting. He is sadly missed, but remember joy comes in the morning who knows the Lord. Dennis is in no more pain, tears, sickness or sorrow and we’ll see him again. May our Lord Jesus put his arms around you during your time of grief.
Sincerely in Christ,
Kitty Wood

Sincere condolences to the Eberly family. We were very fortunate to know Dennis when our son, Curtis, then 10 yrs old, performed in Psalms of David at Living Waters in ’05-06. Dennis was always friendly towards all our whole family, and always assured us that Curtis would be OK when we had to leave him there without any of us on the day of a performance. I enjoyed engaging him in conversation and was saddened to hear that he had been ill. May God comfort you all during this time.

Pennie & Nicole,
Marge & I were saddened by the news about Dennis.
I always joked with him that he was the only Chief Engineer I met who not only spoke English…but was able to ‘dumb it down’ for us management types. One of his favorite lines was "Wellll Jack…" – I can still hear that deep baritone woice!
Our time at WIOV was a highlight for me, and I was glad to catch up with him earlier this year. He was able to touch many people in his life…glad I was one!

Pennie and Nikki,
You’ve been in my thoughts and prayers these past few weeks, and will continue to be. Dennis, with his booming baritone voice and ready smile, beamed his gentle spirit to all who met him. My heart aches for your both.
Wendy remembers all the great times she spent with you during those grade school years, especially those walks back to our house with you and Dennis.
Love and hugs,
Louise ("Mrs. C")
