Delores J. Stewart, 86

Delores J. Stewart, 86, went to be with the Lord on February 5, 2019.
She was employed by Community Action Program as a childcare worker for 23 years. She volunteered throughout Lancaster County dressing up as a clown for special events and birthday parties, which she greatly enjoyed. She appeared on WGAL TV for many events at the Community Action Program and events in downtown Lancaster. She attended several churches in Lancaster and becoming a member of Brightside Baptist Church. She was known by all as Ms. Midge or Ms. Midggie. She loved to dance and participated in dance competitions alongside her brother, together winning them all. She was also well known for her cooking.
Delores is survived by her children: John H. Gant, Rosella A. Gant, William A. Stewart; 19 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren and 9 great great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Stewart and a life-long companion, William H. Ricks. In addition she was preceded in death by her siblings: Henry Gant, Beulah Hudson, Hilda Stewart, Alberta Govan King, Yvonne Alfred and Kenneth Gant; her grandchildren: Shakeena Brown, Anika Brown and Titus Gant.
Delores will be remembered for her love of everyone. She greeted everyone with a smile, a hug and “I love you”.
There will be a funeral service on Wednesday, February 13 at 12pm at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, 414 E. King Street, Lancaster, PA 17602. The family will receive guests from 11am until the time of service.

I send my Condolences to Ms Midgie’s Family. My God I had the pleasure of knowing Ms Midgie almost ALL of my Life. She always treated as one of her babies. Her Smile and Extremely pleasant personality was contagious. I have Moved to Arizona and lost contact with her for many years, but this is such a shock to me. I have and always will love her and will miss sadly.
