About 3 years ago, I ventured out my door to take our newly adopted puppy for a walk. A couple of doors down, fiercely rounding the corner with bared teeth and a relentless bark, came this charging furry brute. In my panic, I froze. Probably a good thing. Then a frantic yell fell upon my ears, “Mimi, get back here!” And around the corner came this beautiful woman I hadn’t met yet. When she got close enough, she scooped up the animated furry one with the Napolean complex, looked in my horrified face, and gave a lilting “Sorry!” Still stunned, I said nothing. Probably a good thing. A day or two later, my nerves again in tact, we introduced ourselves to each other and shared laughter over the silly first encounter. And Mimi was a perfect lil miss, a sweet friend from that day on.
Admittedly I worked too many hours, and so cherished the brief times we spent talking. Whether by your door/driveway, the splash pool filled with too many kids, over a cup of coffee, or occasional text. How you loved to give gifts! And what delight you reflected when our gifts were even the simplest bunch of blue hydrangeas and a handmade card. You gushed with appreciation, and blessed us right on the spot with your vivacious smile.
Your feelings ran deep, and emotions ran the gamut. You weren’t shy about sharing some of your heart. But the deepest part was held in reserve. Dear one, you impacted the world far more than you realize. The emptiness left behind is a difficult journey. I hope the longing in your precious heart is now fulfilled, that there is no more pain, that you have rest and freedom.
And for those loved ones still here grappling with questions and emotions, I pray you are able to navigate each day through the struggle on your own terms. There is no time line at times like this, no proper way. Feel what you must and lean on others who can be a support without judgment of any kind. God not only sees your sorrow, He feels and understands it. May His protection cover your hearts and minds, every day as you move forward.

Sylvia I am so sorry to hear about Dani’s passing.  I feel for you, Valentina and Austin.  I’ve missed seeing you guys, buying our eggs, since Dani moved away from Chester Springs.  My heart just breaks trying to make sense of this.  I gently broke the news to Josh and he says he’s so sorry and to tell Austin that.  Dani and I always talked about trying to get Austin & Josh together for a hang out (they are too old to say play date).  Should you need anything or if you’re ever back in the area, please stop by so I can give you a great big bear hug.  God has gained a beautiful angel.  Love, Amy Carpenter
