Craig P. Martin, 76

June 10, 2020

Craig P. Martin, 76, of Lititz, passed away on June 10, 2020 surrounded by his loving family. Born and raised in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Frederick and Marie (Olszewski) Martin. He was also the loving husband of Elizabeth “Betty” (Levens) Martin for the past 45 years.

Craig will be remembered for his service to the police department in Delaware County, where he served more than 30 years. He was dedicated to his community and often volunteered his time doing fun runs with the department. Being outdoors was something that Craig truly enjoyed, whether it was exercising, walking, or fishing, he enjoyed the fresh air and taking in nature. He also grew to enjoy photography after his sons were born. He liked testing different cameras and lenses to capture the special moments of their youth. He was also an avid gun collector through his adulthood.

He will be greatly missed by his loving wife Betty, his sons; Darryl Martin, husband of Stephanie, of Hollywood, MD and Brett Martin, husband of Maggie, of Ellicott City, MD, grandchildren; Zoe, Madelyn, Gibson, Fletcher and Tilden, as well as his sister, Lynne M. Harnish, wife of Mark. He was preceded in passing by his parents and brother, Jeff Martin.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2020 at St. James Catholic Church, 505 Woodcrest Ave. Lititz, PA 17543, at 11AM. Interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 417005 Boston, MA 02241-7005 or the American Cancer Society, P.O. My thoughts and prayers are with the entire Martin family. When I first started in Media, Mini was one of the first officers from Upper Providence I met. I learned that whenever Craig was on duty I would never have to answer a call alone. He was not just a good cop but a good man. RIP Mini. Mark Raffaele

Betty, I think back when I first went to Upper in 85 and met the guys, what a bunch they were and we became. I am very sorry to hear of his passing and your family’s loss. He will be missed by all. Fond memories of him. Ashame the new guys in the PD never had the opportunity to meet him, one of a kind. You and your family are in my thoughts.

Betty – I’m so very sorry to hear about Craig’s passing.  He was a dear friend and the finest police officer I was priveleged to have under my command as chief of police.  I fondly remember our bicycle trips every Sunday morning from the township to Chadds Ford and back….always had a lot of laughs.  I’ll keep the “cop stories” for another day.  He was one of a kind and I will miss him dearly.

Betty, my deepest condolences to you and the boys. We occasionally worked the same shift and had such a good time. We would talk motorcycles because my husband also had a motorcycle.  He was extremely proud of his two boys and loved you more than you will ever know. RIP Minnie

One of the best partners an officer could have. Loved him like a brother. He inspired me to begin a life of fitness and was there for me during emotionally tough times. A father has never loved his sons more than Minnie.
