Constance “Connie” (Diamantoni) Mimidis, 86, of Lancaster passed away on Friday, July 13, 2018 at Pleasant View Retirement Community with loved ones by her side. Born in Clarksburg, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Menelaous Diamantoni and Elene (Argires) Diamantoni. As a young girl Connie moved to Lancaster to live with her older sisters Lucille and Gertie. While in Lancaster, she met her future husband Thomas at Maple Grove Swimming Pool. She and Tom celebrated 63 years of marriage before his passing in 2012.
Connie was a 1949 graduate of J.P McCaskey High School. Connie was a key punch operator at Hamilton Watch and a sales clerk at Hagers Department Store in Lancaster, Pa. She also worked at the Globe Store in Scranton, Pa. She retired as an admissions application processor for Franklin & Marshall College. Connie was a life-long member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church where she served as a member of the Daughters of Penelope. She also served as past president of the Philoptochos Society and selflessly volunteered each year at the annual Greek Bazaar. Connie was still an avid bridge player and member of multiple bridge clubs. She was a member of the Silver Threads.
Connie touched many lives with her kind words and sincerity. She always put others before herself and had a knack for making people feel special. Connie’s family was her life and she enjoyed spending time with them all.
Connie is survived by three children: George T. Mimidis (Noy), of Lititz, Paul T. Mimidis (Cassandra), of Lititz, Lynn Mimidis of Lancaster and several nephews and nieces. Connie was the proud grandmother of six grandchildren; Melissa, Tommy, Courtney, Marcus, Jennifer and Gregory and three great-grandchildren; Rylie, Mason, Oliver, and Baby H. She was preceded in death by her husband Tom, two sisters Lucille and Gertie, her brother Tony, and son Mark T. Mimidis.

My heart is both filled and saddened at the same time by the passing of a wonderful and very special friend, Connie Mimidis. Connie and I worked together in Admissions at F&M, but she was far more than a colleague. She cared so much about me as a person and treated me much like one of her own sons during my time in Lancaster. I felt very much a part of her family and it was all because of her warmth and kindness. I will mis her dearly. Even as my career took me away from Lancaster I was able to stay connected to her through her family. I love and miss you Connie, but will always keep a song in my heart for you.
