Constance “Connie” R. Bear, 64

September 21, 2017

Constance “Connie” R. Bear, 64, of Millersville, PA, passed away on September 21, 2017 at home with family by her side. Born in Norway, MI, she was the daughter of the late Haybert and Shirley Jean (Greer) Woodall. Connie was the devoted wife of 45 years to Ray Bear.

Because Connie loved jewelry, it influenced her to open a store and become owner of Classic Estate Jewelry, Lancaster. Connie loved eating crabs and having campfires. She enjoyed performing homeopathic remedies of all types, traveling and motorcycle riding. She loved being with her grandkids.

Connie was a loving mother to Carrie Bowmaster, wife of Bill, Amanda Greenawalt, wife of Kent, and Tim Shelley, husband of Anya; proud grandmother to Topanga, Bella & Brian Bowmaster, Cole Bear Greenawalt and Nadya Shelley; and sister to Becky Ahlquist, Vicky Meenan, wife of Dr. Alan Meenan, Bryce Woodall, husband of Cathy, and Laura Kline, wife of Pat.

A Visitation will be held from 10 AM to 12 PM on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 441 N. George St, Millersville, PA 17551. Dear Ray and Family,
Our hearts were broken when we read of Connie’s moving on to heaven.  She was one of God’s soldiers here on earth.  Her loving spirit and personality were a light to many.
Ray, we cannot imagine how you are feeling!  We are praying that Jesus’ loving arms are surrounding you  and your girls and holding you tightly.  You and Connie were MADE for each other and everyone knew it from just seeing you together for 40 plus years!
Her life on this earth brought many closer to God.  May the love of Christ wash over all of you again and again in this difficult time.
With deepest sympathy,
Tom and Janet Purcell

Sorry to hear about Connie.  I am Denise Meisenbach Brubaker and we lived on Poplar Street when you lived on 6th Street.  Becky and I would hang around when we were in elementary school and we would make no bake peanut butter/oatmeal cookies that your mom made and I still have the recipe.  I remember all the fun times we all had. So sorry for your loss.

Dear Carrie and Amanda, I was so sad to open the paper and see your mom’s obituary. Connie was a lovely person and I enjoyed talking with her at the shop.  She was really in her element there. I know your family will miss her so much.  I will miss her, too.  Sincerely, Sue Wood
