Clifford E. Beaner, 92

Clifford E. Beaner, 92, of Lancaster, passed away on Monday, June 17, 2013 at the Lancaster General Hospital.  Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late F. Earl and Alice M. (Roth) Beaner.  He is survived by his wife, Dorothy S. (Snavely) Beaner, whom he was married 70 years, May 23, 2013.

He was a 1939 graduate of J.P. McCaskey High School; served in the U.S. Army during WWII; retired from Armstrong R&D after 44 years, and was a member of Church of the Apostles.  Since childhood, Clifford enjoyed singing, in the school chorus/cantata and church choir.  He enjoyed music.

Surviving in addition to his wife, Dorothy, are three sons, Lawrence E. of South Dakota, Dale E. married to Frances L. of Manheim, Wayne E. married to Vickey L. of Lancaster, and a daughter, Eileen L. married to Phillip A. Jaquith of Lancaster; seven grandchildren and a great-granddaughter; a brother, Gerald W. married to Lydia A. of Lititz; and a brother-in-law, Robert McLain of Lancaster.

Clifford was preceded in death by two sisters, Doris J. Emmerich and Thelma M. Rittenhouse.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11AM on Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at Church of the Apostles, 1850 Marietta Avenue, Lancaster, PA 17603 with Pastor Kathryn Kuhn officiating.  Family and friends will be received from 10-11AM at the church.  Interment will be at Conestoga Memorial Park.  Contributions may be made in Clifford’s memory to the Susquehanna Association for the Blind, 244 N.
