Claudia S. Kinney

May 22, 2018

Claudia entered into rest after a brief illness on Tuesday, May 22, 2018. Claudia was the daughter of the late Claude and Mary Schneider and was born in Lancaster, PA.

Claudia was a 1962 graduate of J.P. McCaskey High School and went on to graduate from business school. She was employed over the years at Schick, Hamilton Watch Company, Swiss Watch Company, St Joseph Hospital, and Healthguard Inc. before retiring from Clipper Magazine in 2006.

Claudia was a member of the former St. Andrew United Church of Christ. She enjoyed bowling and traveling with friends to participate in many tournaments. She loved organizing and playing in multiple card clubs. She loved listening to Paul Anka and had a passion for hot air balloons. Claudia cared very much for the many kittens she had over the years as well. Claudia was an avid ice hockey fan, holding Hershey Bears season tickets for many years and cheering on her New York Rangers.

She is survived by her husband, Charles Kinney with whom she would have celebrated their ninth wedding anniversary in June. She also leaves behind two children, Susan R. Schickel, wife of Terry, and Thomas M. Brubaker, (Joellyn Janesky). Claudia will be missed greatly by her grandchildren, Tyler, Tanner, Kaylee, Eva, Brianna, Dakota, and Skyler. She also had one great-granddaughter and several nieces and nephews. Her growing family also included five step children, Michael, Marie, Charleen, Heather, and Jessie; and eight step grandchildren.

Memorial Contributions, in Claudia’s honor, may be made to the Furever Home Adoption Center, 5984 Main St, East Petersburg, Pa 17520 or to the American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home and Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. Family and Friends will be received from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 and again on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the service in the funeral home chapel.

Claudia requests that all those who desire may attend her services in their favorite sports team attire.

I only came accross this today looking up some history on HealthGuard and I’m deeply saddened!  Claudia was so much fun to sit and talk hockey with even though she rooted for the wrong team!  She was awesome and a joy to be around….we laughed quite a bit together….my condolences to her family, she will be missed!

What can I say except that Claudia wasn’t a friend, she was family.  Claudia was warm, caring and just being with her or thinking about her brings a smile.  I know that her star will shine brightly and she’ll be watching over all of us.  Claudia, I will miss you.
