Christine B. Enoch, 60
July 20, 2018
Christine B. Enoch passed away tragically as a result of a car accident on Friday, July 20, 2018 at the age of 60. She was the daughter of Barbara Bachman (Habecker) and the late Don Bachman. She leaves behind her best friend and husband of 37 years, John Enoch.
Chris grew up in Lancaster County, graduating from Hempfield High School in 1976. She went on to graduate from Penn State University main campus in 1980 with a BS degree in mechanical engineering. Over her life, she worked as a mechanical engineer at RCA, Bulova Technologies, L-3 and most recently, Sechan Electronics as a Senior Manufacturing Engineer. Chris was a quiet pioneer in her industry. In her early days as a mechanical engineer, she faced men who did not want women in the workplace. She went to work in spite of them. Most importantly, she also took 12 years off of work to raise her three sons with a kind heart and tough spirit.
Chris treasured her family. She had many fond memories from childhood exploring the nearby farmland with her sister, Linda Minnich. Chris cherished the time with her parents at their mountain cabin which the family built themselves. She loved spending time in the garden with her mother. Chris and Linda were both a bedrock for their mother after their father’s passing.
Chris’s flower garden was something to behold. She worked countless hours maintaining it to perfection. She also loved to travel across the country and around the world with John, regularly taking out their motorcycle to find new adventures. One of their favorite destinations was to the homes of their three sons, helping with projects and making their homes special. During projects, “good enough” from her sons was never acceptable for Chris.
Chris also taught Sunday school at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church where she and her family were members. Chris would work with John’s mom Marge Enoch assembling class plans and interesting crafts for the children.
Chris also loved shopping for clothes, buying impossible amounts of sweet corn to prepare soup and corn fritters, sewing quilts for her loved ones, and endlessly redecorating her home. Her favorite every day activity was taking long walks around the neighborhood with John. She did not always love walking up the big hills near their home, but always agreed to with a smile. She would walk with him anywhere.
In recent years, she adored the new editions to her family, her son’s significant others. The three new women in her life all reflected the best aspects of her personality. She loved the fact that three beautiful women were coming into the family. She cherished shopping for them.
Chris will be truly missed by all of her friends and family. Besides her husband and mother, Chris is survived by her sister, Linda, and her husband, Scott Minnich, and Chris’s three sons, Kyle, Ryan and Mark Enoch. She also leaves behind John’s mother, Margaret Enoch, as well as his brothers and sister Charlie Enoch, Matt Enoch and Sonya Pappas and their husbands, wives, and children.
Friends and family are invited to a visitation with the family on Thursday, July 26 from 6-8 PM at Charles F. Snyder, Jr. Funeral Home, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543, with a Trisagion Service at 7 PM. Visitation will continue the next day, Friday July 27, from 9:30-10:30 AM at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church of Lancaster, 64 Hershey Ave., Lancaster, PA 17603, with a Funeral Service at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow at Conestoga Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her honor may be sent to the Philoptochos Society “Friend of the Poor” Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church of Lancaster, 64 Hershey Ave, Lancaster, PA 17603, or the Milagro House, milagrohouse.org.

Chris was a great Manufacturing Engineer to work with, really cared that things were right. The paper work was always in order, (harder than it sounds), and the instructions clear to production. She had a quick wit and a smile for everyone even when things were tough. I was shocked when I returned from vacation to hear of her passing. She will be terribly missed at work and by all that knew her.

John & Family, I drove to the funeral home Thursday evening but my 81 year old legs couldn’t stand the great outpouring of love for your loss. Having suddenly lost Dawn just one year ago I know, to a degree, what you are going through except you and Chris are so young to be torn apart by this. You’ll need to rely on your faith, friends and family to persevere and we will all be here for you. I was very downcast until I had a talk with myself and recognized that my life was once fantastic, but will never be all that good any more, yet it is still pretty good. I still miss her every day of my life. Be at peace with yourself that you provided a wonderful life for the one you loved most. You have my deepest sympathies. Jim Dougherty

John and Family,
So difficult to express the pain that I feel for you and your family with the passing of Christine way too soon. I want you to know that I have fond memories of the especially kind and thoughtful person that Christine was back in our high school days and that I had always valued her friendship. I can recall too the happy glow of contentment that was evident in the faces of both of you on a daily basis so many years ago when your lifelong commitment to each other was just beginning to blossom. It was obvious to all that you were meant to be together and the family that you have created is a wonderful testament to that special bond you both shared. May you and your family draw strength from your faith through this exceedingly difficult time and comfort in knowing that one day you all will again be reunited with Christine.

I’m so terribly shocked and saddened by this tragic loss. I have so ,so many wonderful memories of high school because of Chris. Why she, a popular kid, ever picked me, not a popular kid, to be friends with I don’t know, other then the fact that ,that was who Chris was. She didn’t care about who you’re friends were or if you were part of the in crowd she just saw somebody who needed a friend and she became the best friend a girl could have. I send my very heartfelt condolences to you, John, Kyle, Ryan and Mark. Also to Her mom, Barb and Linda, and her many friends and extended family my thoughts and prayers are for all of you.

Dear John,
Ted and are devastated for you. We often said to each other that you and Chris were always smiling and so happy together and one of the closest couples we knew. Chris and all the girls spent many, many hours together watching our “boys” play ball at Conlin Field, Lebanon, and countless tournaments – and that’s where friendships and memories were formed amidst hot summer nights and cold drinks afterwards. There was always a lot of laughter along with recollections of plays, hits, and scores. And then we all started to have children and grown-up responsibilities. We all knew your boys meant the world to both of you, so one truth will shine and live on forever. Chris left a legacy with those three boys of yours. She will always live on through them, and so will you. Chris will always be your best friend in your heart John. I hope the wings of love that took her to heaven will be the wings of love to lift you in the days ahead. Ted and I send prayers for all of you, and much love.

God must have needed another angel. Chris was just that…an angel here on earth. I worked as and electronic technician alongside of Chris at Sechan Electronics, Inc. in Lititz. We shared the same drive as females in a predominately male profession. I enveyed the way she stayed so poised when confronted with each challenging task with such dignity and class. Her overwhelming talents as a mechanincal engineer were so obviously noted by all whom have worked with her over the years. I am so blessed to have been granted the opportunity to have known and loved her. May God bless her and her loving family. My prayers are with you all.
With a sad heart,
Peggy Conner
