Chester A. Bay, 69

Chester A. Bay, 69, of Strasburg and formerly of Seymour and Ansonia in the Naugatuck Valley in Connecticut, passed away at Hospice & Community Care, Mount Joy, on Tuesday, July 18, 2017. He was born in Bronx, NY to the late Chester A. Bay, Sr. and Hanna Howard Bay. Chester and his wife Elaine B. Wakeman Bay celebrated 45 years of marriage on June 24th.

The lead tractor trailer driver for ANCO Engineering, Inc. in Shelton, CT, Chester logged over one million miles delivering steel without any accidents.

Chester was very kind and giving. He was generous, almost to a fault. He was a friend to the Amish. He loved all animals, especially dogs. Chester Loved trains. A very smart and self-taught man, Chester read the New York Times and US News & World Report and studied about toxic dumps.

He attended Greens Farms Congregation Church in Westport, CT and First Baptist Church in Ansonia, CT. Chester answered an altar call at a Billy Graham Crusade in Seymour, CT.

Chester is survived by his loving wife Elaine B. Bay and his faithful Black Labrador Retriever Jacob. He was preceded in death by his loving father and mother-in-law Everett and Lillian Wakeman.

Chester’s wife Elaine will greet friends from 10:30 to 11:00 AM, followed by his memorial service at 11:00 AM with Rev. David Alderson officiating, on Thursday, July 27, 2017 at Wesley United Methodist Church, 40 West Main Street, Strasburg, PA 17579. Interment will be private. Please omit flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to the ASPCA, P.O. Box 96929, Washington, DC 20090-6929.
