Charles G. Nissley, 91
Charles G. Nissley, 91, formerly of 402 Lampeter Road, Lancaster, passed away on Saturday at the Westchase Senior Living Community in Houston, Texas following an extended illness. Charles was the husband of Marion S. Nissley who preceded him in death on May 14 of this year. They celebrated 56 years of marriage this past February 3rd. Born in Columbia, he was the son of the late Charles Q. and Hildegarde (Nicklaus) Nissley.
He retired as Vice President of Conestoga Transportation Company in 1978 following 40+ years of service. He began his career driving trolley cars. Upon retirement, Charles and Marion moved to Leesburg, Florida where they enjoyed traveling and playing golf. Charles was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Lancaster and a graduate of Lancaster Catholic High School.
Charles is survived by three daughters, Penny, married to Robert Rozelle of Houston, Texas, grandchildren Matthew and Michael; Carol Ann, married to William Driendl of Lancaster, grandchildren Scott, Steven, Stacy and Samantha; and Sandra, married to Don Perry, also of Lancaster, grandchildren Melissa and Cynthia. He was the oldest of six sons, preceded in death by George, Raymond, Richard and Eugene. Robert Nissley, the youngest brother, currently lives in West Virginia.
Friends and family will be received on Friday, November 2 from 10am to 11am at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 501 East Orange Street, Lancaster, PA with the funeral Mass to follow at 11am. Interment in Centerville Cemetery. Arrangements by the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home, Lancaster.
