Catherine A. “Kitty” Masse, 85

Catherine A. “Kitty” Masse, 85, of Media, PA died peacefully on Sunday, June 2nd at Pleasant View Retirement Community, Manheim, PA, after a lengthy illness. Kitty was the daughter of the late Bernard P. and Margaret (Hart) McAndrew. She shared 43 years of marriage with her late husband, Dr. Albert L. Masse, until his death in 2003.
Kitty graduated from Chester High School, Chester, PA. After school, she worked for Westinghouse Corporation. Upon their marriage, Kitty and Al traveled to Davenport, IA, where her husband obtained his doctorate in Chiropractic Medicine, and their first child was born. After her husband completed his education, the couple returned to Delaware County and Doctor Masse began his practice in Media, PA where they resided and raised their family.
Kitty was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed bowling, traveling, and vacationing with her family in Stone Harbor, especially spending time with her grandchildren, whom she adored.
She will be missed by her three children: Stephen C. Masse, husband of Lucy (Zippi) Glen Mills, PA, David D. Masse, husband of Sandra J. (Stickley) of Media, PA, Suzanne Masse-Geib, wife of Christopher M. Geib, of Lititz, PA, six grandchildren, Rachael, Maria, Sarah, Daniel, and Laura Masse, and Matthew Geib. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Bernard, Jack, and Joseph McAndrew.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, June 6, 2013 at 10:30 AM at Our Lady of Charity Church, 231 Upland Road, Brookhaven, PA, 19015 with Rev. Richard C. Williams as Celebrant. A viewing will be held from 9:30 until 10:30 AM at the church. Interment will be in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
