Byron J. Becker, 84
Byron J. Becker, 84, of Lancaster, passed away Saturday, October 23, 2010 at the Essa Flory Hospice Center. He was the husband of the late Jane E. Fritsch Becker who died in 2008. Born in Rothsville, he was the son of the late Lillian Mohn.
Byron served in the US Navy during World War II and then worked for Armstrong World Industries as a line leader and Linoleum set cutter. A life member of the NRA, he enjoyed hunting and fishing in Potter County. Byron was a member of St. Philip the Apostle Roman Catholic Church.
Surviving Byron are his son Byron M. “Barry” Becker and sister-in-law Mildred Miller, both of Lancaster. His brother Donald Strickler preceded Byron in death.
Friends will be received on Thursday, October 28th from 10 to 11 AM at St. Philip the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 2111 Millersville Pike, Lancaster, PA, with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11 AM, with The Rev. Mark E. Weiss as Celebrant.. Interment in St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery. Please omit flowers.
