Bruce W. Magill, 71

Bruce W. Magill, 71, of Lancaster, died Saturday at Lancaster Regional Medical Center after a brief illness.  He was formerly of Los Angeles, California but moved to Lancaster in 1987.

Bruce worked for 40 years in defense work at Marquardt Company as an Aeronautical Engineer.  He was President of International Signal and Control Defense Company for 4 years.  After retirement in 2001 he was a Mail Carrier for the US Postal Service.

He enjoyed golfing, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren and family.

Born in San Gabriel Valley, California he was the son of the late Charles Frederick and Ruth Platt Magill.

He was married to Eileen A. Magill on Dec. 30, 1985 for 21 years.

Surviving besides his wife are four children; Scot W. married to Donna Magill of Mesa, AZ; Lisa C. married to Terry Mantooth of San Marcos, CA; Stacy M. Annis of San Diego, CA; Loren W. Magill of Santa Monica, CA; two step-children; Kelley E. married to Jason Harmon of Baltimore, MD; Brian W. Scholl of Lancaster; five grandchildren; Genoa, Dean, Milo, Cameron and Kiley.

A private memorial service was held at the convenience of the family.  In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Lancaster Chapter, 314 Good Drive, Lancaster, PA 17603.
