Bradley C. Nelson, 32

March 27, 2021

Bradley C. Nelson, 32, of Harrisburg, PA passed away peacefully on Saturday March 27, 2021 at Hershey Medical Center surrounded by loving family. Born in Phoenix, AZ on July 8, 1988, Brad was the son of Paul Coffman and Teresa Simmons.

Brad was a hardworking retail salesman and manager for several notable companies. His courageous spirit and hard work ethic could be seen in his desire to better himself. He was working towards his medical billing and coding certification through HACC.

Brad’s smile lit up the room, his laugh was contagious, and his presence was cherished by all who knew him. Brad was a phenomenal cook and baker who shared his creations with family and friends. He was an avid gamer, a loving cat dad to Kuala and Jack, and actively a part of the Furry fandom where he was known by his Fursona Avarice Panthera Leo. His participation in the Furry fandom took him to gatherings throughout the years. Brad will forever be remembered as a funny, outgoing, and loving individual.

Brad was a loving son, compassionate friend and an all-around nice guy. He bravely fought Hodgkin’s Lymphoma for several years and he never let it defeat his positive spirit. He will be missed by all that knew him.

He is survived by his father: Paul Coffman and wife, Stacy, of Suprise, AZ; his mother: Teresa Simmons and husband, Matt, of Harrisburg, PA; his Aunt Lori Wehring and husband Tye, of Colorado Springs, CO; and his grandparents: Dick and Marge Simmons of Westminster, MD and Charles and Sharon Nelson of Tonapah, AZ. Bradley was preceded in death by his grandparents: Raymond and Geraldine Huyett.

Family and friends will be received at the Bachman-Snyder Funeral Home, 7 S. Decatur Street Strasburg, PA 17579, on Friday April 2, 2021 from 10AM-11:30AM. A celebration of life service will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Bradley’s honor can be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, https://www.lls.org/ and/ or the Humane Society of Harrisburg Area, Inc., 7790 Grayson Rd, Harrisburg, PA 17111.

Condolences to the Family

April 25, 2021

My deepest condolences to Brad’s family and friends, it’s always sad to lose an important person in one’s life. The memories about him should always be cherished and I am sure there are many, especially when it’s about such a positive and kind person like him.
I hadn’t much personal contact with Brad, but the few words we exchanged was always friendly and warm, so I can say he was a wonderful person and I am sure he will be missed by many.

Brad and I got very close during his time in AZ , He lived with me for about a year when He was going through a bit of a rough spot  We would drive around and sing awful Niki manaj songs or Brittany spears  like obnoxious queens lol. We became like sisters and constantly laughed and joked together, We were there for eachother through many scares and hardships of relationships and silly young drama. I wish I had visitied him during his struggles But He was always so strong and optomistic He still joked and laughed through it all. Brad was truley a unique and beautiful person I Love him so much even today He’ll never be gone from my memory I never laughed so much with a person and he made such a beautiful  inpact in my life an memories
Rest in peace my love ill keep signing to brittany spears for you

Bradley became part of my life and friendship circle around late 2015, through gaming and social media chat groups. It wasn’t long before we eventually started hanging out, gaming together and goofing off watching funny stuff on YouTube and Twitch. For the 5 to 6 years I’ve known him, he was most certainly the kind of person that would make you smile. Even during the most stressful of days, he’d find a way to turn your mood right around.
Most of our conversations centered around betting our lives, getting healthy and eventually seeing what could be done through future entrepreneurial routes of our own. I would also say that Bradley was one of the people who might have pushed me to pursue the entreprenurial path I have now, furthering my graphic design and ebook/animated series future plans.
It wasn’t long until we found out that we were both members of the Furry Fandom, which is probably the main driver for me getting into creative projects such as graphic design; I would always show him my projects like clothing designs, 3-D models and so forth, and would talk about hanging together at Furry conventions to partake in community festivities and meet amazing artists and creators from around the world.
I will miss him dearly, but know that our intelligence will help ensure we will never forget those who have touched us internally. That friendship, connection and love that he as given to all of us will last forever.

I met Bradley online some years back. he commissioned art from me of his character Avarice. He was such a sweetheart and a pleasure to work with we ended up friends talking on and off when the mood struck us. he would always encourage during rough times as a struggling artist and I would encourage him each time he went to the hospital. He was such a fighter and I admired him for that. Bradley this is hard to type..I’m going to miss you so much I’m sorry we lost contact for a while but I am so happy for the time that I got to know you no matter how short. Rest well darling. I hope to see you again next life.To Bradley’s family, he’ll always be in my heart. Thank you for the wonderful person you’ve brought into this world.

I met Bradley while playing World of Warcraft a few years ago, by merely /waving at him and saying hi while we were farming for some mount. That was all it took to hit it off as good friends – he was so funny and sassy and could always make me laugh and was a fun player to hang out with. I always looked forwards to hanging out with him and going on adventures. As time went on we drifted away for a while but recently I reached out to him to play some more games and he informed me of his health situation. For the rest of my life I’m going to be glad I did that, sending him memes and fun little messages to cheer him up when I could. He’ll always be a reminder in my life to treat those around you who you love well because tomorrow isn’t promised. I think about him constantly, and just hope his family knows he was loved by many online for his sassy spirit and will never be forgotten.

RIP Avarice

I have known Bradley as Avarice since I first started the Furry Fandom. He’s such a loving person that I had the privelage to make artwork of his character. It just makes feel even more sad that I didn’t spend more time with him… The world is just too cruel, may he rest in believed peace.

I have known Brad since I was around 14. You couldn’t ask for a better friend. He was always there for you when you needed him. And only ever had love at his core. I miss him. And I wish him all the best. He is family. And always will be.

I just want to say that I had the privilege to get to know Brad since December…  We had some good conversations, despite the circumstances.  He was genuinely kind, soft spoken, and had a gentle spirit, even in the hard times.  I was able to encourage him and tried to uplift him each time I interacted with him through those days.    He really hated the hospital coffee…lol…so I brought him some of my green mountain dark magic coffee, which he liked – sometimes its the small things that make the day a little better.  I really wished the best for him.  I thought he was gonna get there, so I am deeply saddened by this news as well.  To the family: I’m so sorry for your loss.  May you celebrate the good times you shared with him, and may those memories make your heart smile in the days ahead.

Few people have a heart as big as Brad and i was blessed to have known him for the short time i did. Every little thing he did seemed to be aimed to brighten my day and he involved me in so many things, the fun times we had and the memories made will never leave my mind. He never judged people for where they came from or their income. If he liked you it didn’t matter. Brad is a perfect example to spend time and love your friends and family as much as you can because you never know when they will be gone. Brad was an angel and will forever be part of my life’s fondest memories. I hope you’ll be there to meet me when my time comes because you were the only one that could game and joke in a way that made me laugh so hard. Thank you so much for everything Brad/Avarice. Knock their socks off up there!
