Sorry to hear of Barney’s passing.
He was a great person and a good neighbor when we lived on New st many years ago. When we moved in he was the first person that introduced himself. Later years we would meet at catholic high football games. Our kids all had great things to say about his children that worked at LCHS.
We were away and sadly missed his service. I’m glad to have Known him and his family.

I always think of Barney and Nancy as a wonderful team that raised four wonderful children by providing guidance and example of a christian philosophy. The four did not become educators by accident. Barney was a paragon of empathy proving time and energy for good causes. Lancaster Catholic High School never had a stronger supporter. I always knew that I would see Barney at Catholic High on Friday nights manning the concession stand  at football games in all kinds of weather. Best of all, the children knew how lucky they were. I have always envied them.

My prayers are with all of you at this time. I have so many wonderful memories of Barney,s family growing up. Almost alll of the Hohenwarter oldster’s are now gone, I’m sure they’re uniting in heaven! I am not able to attend the funeral, but my thoughts and prayers are with you. Love, Donna M. Kaylor

and former close by neighbor, as well as SAC friend, I always held him in high esteem. He may have been a man of few words at times, but his strength carried him through the battle. You have won the ‘fight Bernard” and resting in Peace. Blessings to  you Nancy, the children and the grandchildren. Prayers are for you all. Rita R. Boyer, Lancaster, PA

Sorry to hear of Barney’s passing. I worked with Barney in the Composing Room at LNP back in ’68 and ’69 while I was a student at Stevens Trade. I will remember all the good times we had back then.

Was very sad when I heard Uncle Barney had passed. I will miss him at the “Martin” parties at Christmas and 4th of July gatherings! I will also remember when my Dad, was very ill  and Uncle Barney sat and held my Dads hand, not being able to talk anymore the love between them was worth more than if any word could have been spoken. I know in my heart that my Dad was the first brother to welcome Uncle Barney to eternal life! I can see it now the “loud” converstions that will be taking place between all of the siblings!!
Love you always Uncle Barney will always have a special place in my heart!-Carole
