Bernard F. “Bernie” Ferry, 68
July 01, 2020
Bernard “Bernie” F. Ferry, 68, of Lititz, passed away at his home unexpectedly on July 1, 2020. Born in Bethlehem, he was the son of Bernard H. and Elizabeth G. (Grskovich) Ferry. He was the devoted companion of Amy Dieter for over 30 years.
Bernie will be remembered as a highly reputable Irish Terrier breeder. He loved and was dedicated to his dogs. He was an active member in many local dog clubs including being the Vice President of the Irish Terrier Club of American which he has been a member since 2016. He was also a member of the board of the Irish Terrier Club of New York for more than 10 years, as well as Lancaster Kennel Club, where he was on the board of directors.
He was also an Architectural Consultant for John P. Jester Associates Inc. He made a reputation for himself by giving great guidance to clients, while remaining honest and level headed. His concern was not the bottom dollar, it was to guide on how his products could make their vision better.
Bernie will be sorely missed by his companion Amy, his many friends and work associates. He will be greatly missed by Amy’s family, especially Amy’s sister Melinda and her husband Kenny, as well as his 30 year long, every Saturday morning, breakfast with his best friends, Tom Malinich and Fernando Garcia.
Services will be at the convenience of the family.

I really only got to know Bermie in the past few years while serving on the Board of Directors of the Irish terrier Club of America. I appreciated his strong sense of loyalty to the future of our breed and his ability to cut to the core of an issue. I will miss this big man!

I met Bernie about 25 years ago through work. We hit it off almost immediately. Although I did have a chance to talk to him recently we haven’t seen each other in a while. We had made plans to get together for breakfast or lunch but something always came up. I will regret that for the rest of my life. Amy you have my deepest sympathy, Bernie was a genuine “good guy” and I’m glad to say that he was a friend. RIP Bernie, you will be missed.

As with all such sudden departure’s, Bernie’s passing is hard to accept.
I knew Bernie only as a fellow club member of the Irish Terrier Club of New York. His warmth, and love of Irish Terriers will be a comforting memory, but he will be sorely missed!

I met Bernie about five years ago at a dog show. I must say that Bernie was one of the first (of many) Irish Terrier people that welcomed me into their world with open arms. I will always appreciate this gesture. I am so very sorry to hear of Bernie’s passing. He was a good man and I will truly miss him. Rest In Peace, my friend.
