Bernadette Lee “Bern” Giwerowski, 45

June 01, 2018

Bernadette Lee “Bern” Giwerowski, 45, of Ephrata passed away surrounded by her loving family on June 1, 2018 at Hospice and Community Care. Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of Virginia (Smith) Merk and Jim Merk.
Bern will be remembered for her big smile and her even bigger heart. She was kind to everyone and friends with everyone. She took special care to remember the names of all those she met. She collected head vases and country items that she found on the many vacations that she took to Lancaster County while she was living in Philadelphia. She was an amazing wife and mother and greatly cherished all the time she was able to spend with her family. A life-long Disney fan, her fondest memory was of a trip that she and her entire family took to Disney in 2014.
Bern is survived by her loving husband of over 23 years Eric G. Giwerowski Sr., their children, Jessica (Giwerowski) Musser, married to Eric Musser, and Eric G. Giwerowski Jr. She is also survived by her mother, Virginia Merk, father, Harry Bruce, her sister Dawn Perales, and two nieces, Schelby Ceresini and Sophia Perales. She is preceded in death by her father, James Merk.
Services will be held at 1:30PM on Sunday, June 10, 2018 at Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory located at 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. Guests will be received prior to the service starting at 12:00PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Bern’s name can be made to Help The Fight at https://www.helpthefight.org/donate/ or donations directly to the Giwerowski Family can be sent to 228 Jennifer Ln., Ephrata, PA, 17522.
