Mom, I miss you very much, but I’ve missed you for a  long time.  You were so selfless and loving.  I was just talking to Joan Bair, and she was saying how determined you always were, even in the face of adversity.  Well, you taught that determination on down to your kids.  We have faced so much in the time that you were ill, but we trudged on, faced our difficulties and went on.  You were strict, but that taught us manners, right from wrong, and compassion.  You always put everyone before yourself.  Even in the throes of Alzheimer’s, you had such a great sense of humor.  You laughed so much at yourself and at our not very funny jokes, and at us.  You helped us deal with your Alzheimer’s.  How selfless is that??  You were always there for us, for your grandkids, and for other people’s kids.  None of us would be who we are if it hadn’t been for you.  You always be a part of me.  I love you so much.  Rachel
