Condolences to the Family

My thoughts are with all of our family today as my grandmother is laid to rest.. I will miss grandmom very much, but I know she is at peace with Grandpop now. I have so many fond childhoid memories of my Grandmom Kime.  We lived in Florida, but my sister Kerrin and I would spend all summer visiting her and Grandpop.  Those we’re special times with them and some of my best childhood memories were spent at their home in Rosemont, PA, Ocean City NJ., and later at their hotel in Parkesburg, PA with aunts, uncles and cousins. Grandmom’s family was most important to her and there was no doubt she loved all of us dearly. She was always kind and caring, but she also was firm if necessary. When she said something she meant it, and you better listen.  She loved shopping with us girls and she always dressed nice wherever she went, color coordinated and everything. She was one of a kind and I’m so happy that I was able to spend as much time as I did with her. She’s In my heart forever!   Her granddaughter -Kristin

I remember looking forward to summer when the Leary clan would be in O. C. across the street from my house.  My mother, Dot Lee, was a good friend of Frieda’s and we spent lots of time visiting each other and sitting in the shade under the trees in Frieda’s yard.  I lived in Myerstown for 40 years and now reside at Brethren Village.  I have such fond memories of the whole family and wish I had visited with Arline at Luther Care.  I’m so sorry for your lose.  Betsy (Lee) Gardner

Our loss is Heaven’s gain. I will always remember Aunt Arline as sweet, generous, and kind… sassy and honest – and a truly genuine person. As a spirited child, I am sure I tried her patience each time we visited, and once she shook her finger at me and said, “You are your mother’s daughter!” Then, she winked at me, gave me a quick hug, and said, “and that’s why we love you. But if you break something running through my house, I WILL paddle you!” A very, VERY special Lady! Rest in Peace, Aunt Arline!  Vicki Conway Shay

Mom, Larry & I will miss you very much. Hopefully you are in a peaceful place with Dad. I wish we didn’t live so far away in Florida so we could have continued our Mother-Daughter relationship as a closer more normal one. We loved having you & Dad visit…driving down twice a year, and later flying down by yourself. I loved growing up as your daughter and with Dad & my brothers in Rosement-such fond memories! And Ocean City with all of our extended families. These memories are part of my life I will never forget. After leaving home to be on my own I still felt so loved and comfortable when I came home to visit. Thank you for being such a wonderful Mother and teaching me how to be the Mother and woman I turned out to be. Love, your daughter, Janis (Kime) Silver

Aunt Arline was a very important  part of my growing up.   She was my role model.  I learned from her that every child should be treated with respect and dignity, rather than condemnation and scorn for uncontrolled behavior.    A few years ago I was able to tell her how much I appreciated that she was always kind to a very difficult child and teenager, who was often defiant and undisciplined.  She will always have a special place in my heart.
