Anna L. Keller, 92

Anna L. Keller, 92, passed away on October 5, 2007 at St. Anne’s Retirement Community, Columbia.

Born Anna Barbara Long on October 17, 1914, in Lancaster, PA, she was the daughter of the late Carl G. and Rose Burger Long and the beloved wife of Vincent G. Keller with whom she would have celebrated their 71st wedding anniversary on October 17th.

Mrs. Keller traveled extensively with her husband throughout Europe, which included a four year stay in England and two years in Taiwan. Other travels included extended stays in South America and Finland.

During her life she worked 12 years for the American General Life Insurance Co., and she did volunteer work for St. Anne’s Home, St. Joseph’s Hospital, E. Hempfield Twp. Meals on Wheels, Rohrerstown Fire Co., and St. Leo the Great Catholic Church. She was a past member of St. Joseph’s Hospital Auxiliary, St. Anne’s Home Auxiliary, the Friendship Club of St. Leo’s Church, Rohrerstown Fire Co. Auxiliary and the IFCA. She was also a charter member of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church.

Anna enjoyed playing cards, especially bridge and pinochle, and shopping. She loved cooking and spending time with family and friends.

In addition to her husband, Vincent, she is survived by two sons: Dr. James V. and his wife Constance of San Jose, CA; and H. Lawrence and his wife Patricia of Lancaster; and a daughter, Christine A., wife of Donald House of Lancaster. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters: Mary Kuhns and Teresa Weagley.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial to be held at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, 2427 Marietta Ave., Lancaster, PA on Thursday, October 11, 2007 at 11:00 AM with the Rev. William Sullivan as Celebrant. Visitation will be from 10 until 11 AM. Final Farewell in St. Joseph’s New Catholic Cemetery, Bausman, PA. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Anna’s memory may be made to St. Anne’s Retirement Community, 3952 Columbia Ave., Columbia, PA 17512.
