Angeline (Francos) Diamandaras, 91

Angeline (Francos) Diamandaras, of Lancaster, passed away Monday, September 23, 2013 at Manor Care Health Services.

Born in Greece in 1921, she was the daughter of the late George and Helen (Tzlaides) Francos.

Her family immigrated to the United States when she was six years old, and settled in Lancaster. Her father owned an operated a restaurant.

Angeline was an excellent student and was active in the high school glee club. She had an excellent soprano voice, and sang many roles and solos including Schubert’s “Ave Maria”. As an adult, she sang in the church choir of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church.

She is survived by a son, Charles Diamandaras; three nephews: George, Charles Jr., and William Francos; one niece, Alexis Francos; a brother, Charles G. Francos, M.D.; and a sister, Dorothy Francos, and a number of great-nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Friday, September 27, 2013 at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 64 Hershey Ave., Lancaster, PA 17603. The family will receive friends from on Friday one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Conestoga Memorial Park.

Joy and I were so sad and sorry to read about Angie in the Newspaper on Wednesday. She was a wonderful lady and we enjoyed working with her over many years She will be sincerely missed by many friends.
