To all of Ali’s family – I am saddened by your loss and will certainly hold all of you in my prayers.  I will always think of her as we hang the beautiful necktie angel ornaments that she made from my father’s ties.  A wonderful and loving gift!

Ali was a good friend and colleague.  Yes, I did lose touch with her after leaving East High School, however I frequently thought of her and good memories of her nature.  She was a kind soul.

I am so sorry to hear about Allie’s passing.  She was a beautiful and kind person who would always go out of her way to help at the Calico Cutters Quilt guild special events. She would stop in the early morning around 7 am to pick up trays of food from Wegmens in Downington. She was always cheerful and kind to everyone.  I will miss her very much. She is in Heaven smiling down on us. Patricia Svitek

A long time neighbor in Middletown,I will always remember her sweet smile and the fun times we had driving a little red car she won. We moved to Lancaster County years ago and now to find out Ali was almost my neighbor again just about 5 miles away. Rest in peace Alletta. Prayers to your family.

In a person’s lifetime, it is possible to look back and remember a few people who truly changed or saved one’s path in life. When I was transferred to the new East school, I was angry, scared, and downright ready to quit. I was even considering and was working with a recruiter to enter the Navy. It took some very good people to pull me back from the ledge. The two most influential in helping me to make it through are now gone. One was my wise counselor grand Quaker lady Grandmother, who had just the right words to calm my rough temper. And there was Ali Bowers. Always there to help me adjust to the chaos that was East, provide me the tools to remake me, and the consummate friend to listen, then advise. I made it through, loving every day I walked into the classroom for the next 29 years. A technophobe, she supported me in the fast changing world that so confused me. Charging into a new career immediately, I soon was the manager in hiring the tech genius employees at Best Buy. And so closed the circle. Now I was Ali Bowers helping young hot headed geeks maneuver a complicated business world and life in general, and they taught me to be a geek. Fifteen years in that kept me away from the old social life of the East Family and I am sorry to say I did not know what Ali had been going through. Now she is gone, way too soon. But with the hundreds of professionals she cared for, and the thousands of students she helped give a push start to their lives has left an imprint that will last for generations. Rest peacefully now, Ali, there is a legion to carry on your legacy.

Ali always had a sweet smile, was optimistic, showed creativity, demonstrated thoughtfulness and helped others.  Her students loved and respected her, as did the East High School Faculty.   She will be greatly missed by all that knew her and Eastenders will not be the same without her.  My thoughts go out to her family, as they grieve her passing.
