Abram S. “Abe” Funk, 75
Abram S. “Abe” Funk, 75, of Mt. Joy, PA passed away on Thursday, April 4, 2013 at Conestoga View. Born in Millersville, he was the son of the late Irwin and Mary (Simmons) Funk.
After graduating from Penn Manor High School in 1956 he joined the Air Force and retired after more than 20 years of service. He served two tours of duty in Vietnam.
Abe attended Saturday night services at LCBC and was a member of the VFW and the American Legion. He enjoyed spending time with his friends at the Mt. Joy VFW.
Surviving are three sisters, Arlene Brenner, wife of Harlan, Doris Himes, wife of Edward, and Phyllis Foutz, wife of Gene and three stepsons, Lemar, Gary, Jeff Grube and their families. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Fran.
A Memorial Service will be at 7PM on Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at the Charles F. Snyder, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. Family and friends will be received from 6:30-7PM at the funeral home on Tuesday. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. So sorry to hear of your loss. I worked with Abe at the Manheim Auto Auction. He was such a joy and pleasure to work with. He will be missed.
