To the Sam Family,
I am so sorry to hear that Billy passed on. Billy and i were great freinds and I can always remember  the days that i would repair his refrigerated tractor which he use to park on Route 61 north of Pottsville  Pa. I would like to say the Billy was a great person and I did enjoy his company and also watching his children grow up. After I left Pottsville you lose contact with your freinds. Rest in peace Billy.

Sam,
Joan and I extend our deepest sympathy for your loss.  I miss your Dad stopping by during his walks to discuss the issues of the day which always started out by his telling me he was a truck driver and that he was Lebanese!  He loved you and your family a lot and wasn’t afraid to let me know it.

As a Nurses Aide, you’re told by your insructors to avoid becoming attached. They’re implying a lack of attachment toward ‘residents’: the people that one sees every day & works with in an extemely personal manner. Concerning that, I can safely say that I’m completely unattached to, say, my toaster. What they tell you, though, is rubbish; the fact is that you cannot help making connections with people.
“Billy”, as I knew him, was an intelligent and funny (I need to underscore ‘funny’) person during a time when many people lose grasp of being either of those things. Working for him, in the way that I did, meant hardly a workday for me. He was sociable and charming. He could have been mistaken for a rough and tough kind of guy at first glance, but he always belied that when you first started talking with him.

I’ll miss him, his stories and his laughter.

Sending my condolences to the Sam family. My prayers are with all of you. I played with Tony’s Son & Daughter back in the 60’s when visiting my Grandparents Elmer & Marion Miller on Harrison St., Pottsville. I also visited Mr & Mrs. Sam across the street on Harrison, when I was a young girl. RIP Bill.
