William Alexander Cashaw, 38

June 23, 2015

William Alexander Cashaw, 38, of Lancaster, PA, passed away unexpectedly on June 23, 2015. Born in Aliquippa, PA, he was the son of Ondra Eugene Cashaw and Sylvania Marie Ferguson; father of William Alexander Cashaw II; and the proud grandfather of Faith Marie Cashew. William was the fiancé of Lyndell Marie Gjanci.
He was on the Alumni of Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology, majoring in Electronic Engineering. And also earned his finance degree from Strayer University.
Wil was a devoted father and a loyal friend. To those who knew him, he was a problem solver, a jack of all trades, and master of his craft…in other words, Wil wore many hats.
Friends and loved ones considered him a gentle giant, who was rich in laughter, quite generous, and had a personality that was always genuine, and down to earth. He paid close attention to detail and to what mattered most in life.
In addition to his parents, Ondra and Sylvania, and his fiancée, Lyndell, William is survived by a son, William Alexander Cashaw II, and a granddaughter, Faith Marie Cashaw; a sister, Amaira Richardson; brothers: Christopher Mueller, Ondra Cashaw, Dion Cashaw, Gilbert Todd, the baileys, Daniel Byron, Shawn, and Allen Ferguson and Darryl Cal-Gordon Madison; aunts: Sileatha Doby, Hannah Ferguson and Dietrich Hutchinson; uncles: Daniel E. Ferguson, Jr. and William L. Cashaw; Senior Uncles: Elbert and Everret Ferguson; along with several aunts and uncles, and a slew of cousins.
A viewing will take place from 10-11 AM on Thursday, July 2, 2015 at the Charles F. Snyder, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543 with Home Going Services given by his uncle, Minister William A. Ferguson. Interment will take place at Landis Valley Cemetery.
Condolences and Cards may be sent directly to the funeral home.

I worked with Will…to say he had a profound affect on my life, is an understatement. I learned so much in the short time I spent with him.  I still yern to see him walk through that shop door. He was a trusted friend and a true leader of men. There is so much he left undone and he truly had a plan. I miss him deeply!
He was so proud of lil Will and I hope he understands how much he loves him. My condolences to his family and friends. Will you’ll be missed.

To Ondra and Sylvania, I am so sorry for your loss. No parent should have to put a child in the ground. Will was a awesome human and I am proud and better for knowing him. May God bless the two of you as you mourn this terrible loss.
To his fiancée, Lyndell- I am sorry that you lost the love of your life. I pray after your mourning that you can go on and find love again. Will was a great guy and always talked about you at work and was looking forward to spending the rest of his life with you. I pray that God will ease your sorrow and walk with you threw this hard journey.
To Will jr- Your dad was a great guy and he was so proud of the progress you made with your schooling. He did so hope that you would go on to educate yourself at Thaddeus Stevens and I pray that you can find the strength to strive to do that. Your dad was very big on education and a very smart guy. I will miss him at work greatly. We were all at a loss that he passed. I pray that God accompanies you on your journey in life and know that your dad is proud of you and with you in all that you do.
God bless all of you on this tough journey and know that we will all meet him again.

To the Cashaw Family,

I dont know how to put into words the lose that we have experienced. Will was… he was my brother. And with heavy heart I am to write this. But I know Will would want us all to be strong and laugh at the good time we all experienced with him. My heart is with you all. And to lil Wil. Your father was a GREAT MAN! The Best of the Best. I know you will make him proud. We first met in 9th grade in John Harris Campus, Harrisburg PA. It was the first week of school. And we both sat in the back of the Mrs. Shipleys class right beside each other. We started joking and laughing right after the class started and continued til the day God called hiim home. I am proud to call William, my brother. He was more then a brother. He was a God send!! He was the other half of the coin. We grew up being the best of brothers. I never thought or even expected the day would come to have to write this about him.  He has given so much in the time i knew him. He was always just a phone or text call away. Where ever, whenever!! He was the BEST of US! I will miss you,Will! Til the day we see each other again and we can catch up on things and laugh again.
Always your loving brother,
Allen

Rest easy Wil. I remember first meeting you in your Dad’s basement after the wedding ceremony. From that day forward you and I have been real cool. You’ve made me laugh, given me good advice and challenged my thinking. You will be truly missed.
