William A. Barnett, 102

October 17, 2016

William A. Barnett, 102, of Lancaster went home to be with Jesus on Monday, October 17, 2016 at Masonic Village in Elizabethtown where he resided the past 4 ½ years. He worked for over 40 years as a railroad conductor for the PA Railroad.
Along with his wife Lydia, they enjoyed traveling to their home in Florida where they spent 7 months out of the year. He was also very involved in the Boy Scouts where he served as a leader for many years. He became a member at the age of 100 with the masonic lodge, Abraham Treichler Lodge No. 682 in Elizabethtown.
Above all William was a true family man who became a role model for many family and friends.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the many staff and volunteers at Masonic Village – Elizabethtown who provided exceptional care to William.
He is survived by his daughter, Patricia Sourbeer of Pequea; three grandchildren, Mitch, Chris and Brad; three great-grandchildren, Steven, Brian and Ryley and one great great grandchild, Jaxon. Also surviving are several loving nieces, nephews and extended family. He was preceded in death by his son, William A. Barnett, Jr. and four brothers and five sisters.
