Violet Weir Stamp

Violet Weir Stamp, born on March 13, 1912 in Boston, MA; passed away on Friday, September 21, 2012 at the Mennonite Home at the age of 100 ½.  She was the daughter of the late Minnie and Thomas Weir.

Mrs. Stamp resided at Valleybrook Estates since 1992 when she moved to Lancaster from Bethesda, MD.  She lived there for 55 years.  Following the death of her husband, Alfred Thomas Stamp, Sr. in 1954, Mrs. Stamp began working for the Montgomery County Public School System.

Violet is survived by a daughter, Jann Coppock of San Clemente, CA and a son, Al Stamp, Jr. (Beca) of Lancaster; and three granddaughters, two grandsons and eight great-grandchildren.

AL, SORRY TO READ ABOUT YOUR MOM, BUT GLAD HER OB WAS IN THE WASH POST SO I COULD SEND YOU THIS NOTE.  YOU AND I GO ALL THE WAY BACK TO BETHESDA METHODIST CHURCH SUNDAY SCHOOL THIRD OR FOURTH GRADE (MAY BE) WHEN I FIRST MET YOU (AS TOMMY) AND THEN ON AN EVERY DAY BASIS AT NORTH BETHESDA JR HIGH AND THEN W J.  THE LAST TIME I REMEMBER SEEING YOU WAS AT THE LAST GAME THE WASHINGTON SENATORS PLAYED IN 1971 BEFORE MOVING TO TEXAS. BEST WISHES TO YOUR FAMILY.
