Shirley A. Plank, 76

Shirley A. Plank, 76, of Lancaster died Saturday night at Essa Flory Hospice Center.

Born in Bird in Hand, Pa ,she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Margaret Sullivan Bitzer. Shirley was married to J. Emory Plank for 56 years. Mrs. Plank retired as a sales person from the former Peddlers Alley Shop which was located in Park City. Mrs. Plank was a member of St Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Lancaster. Shirley was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and dear friend to many, who enjoyed doing things for her grandchildren, working in her garden and antiquing.

Surviving besides her husband are two sons; John E. Plank Jr and Dawn of Lancaster, Stephen J. husband of Frances Plank of Lancaster, three granddaughters: Ashleigh Plank, Katy Plank, Gloriann Plank, one great granddaughter: Cheyenne Plank, Four sisters: Nancy wife of Ronald Groff of Leola, Margaret wife of Eugene Koser of Lancaster, Mary Kay Hensel of Ephrata, Linda wife of Rodney Mellot of Florida, two brothers: Jack husband of Nancy Bitzer of Lancaster, Donald Bitzer of Manheim.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 501 E. Orange Street, Lancaster, Pa. on Friday at 11:00am. Interment will follow in St Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. A viewing will be held at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home, 414 E. King Street, Lancaster, Pa on Thursday evening from 7-9 pm and on Friday morning from 9:30-10:30 am. The rosary will be recited on Thursday night at 8:30pm.
