Dear Bob and Family,
I just want to let you know how sorry I am about Sandy.  I know that she has had some rough times and how devoted you were to helping her.   I also know how much you and your family will miss her.

I heard a lot about you and her from Chuck V.  I know he always thought a lot of both of you and that he will miss her.  I am sorry that I never got to meet you or her.

Take care.
Deb Bair

Though these words come from far away and Kathy and I are not able to be with you please know that are hearts, thoughts, and prayers are with you during this very difficult time.

As I think of our aunt sandy I am flooded with memories as far back as when I was a very small child when mom took us kids (me, Rick and Deb) to visit her at her home in Silver Springs to times together with Dad and Arla at their house in Holtwood and more recently sitting with her, Bob, Cathy and Deb looking over old photos. Memories of teasing the cat "nikki" to the point where she would bite me and make me cry, Rick and Cris baysitting Deb and I, Camping trips with Cathy and Bob, rides in Bob’s sportcar (was that a Mustang?), playing Pinochle, long chats with her and dad by the the fish pond at the back of he his house in Holtwood in his last few days, and the list goes on and on… I specifically recall the deep interest she had in our life here in China and the many questions she had about our travels.  Most of all I will NEVER forget my aunt Sandy’s sense of humour and love of life.  I can close my eyes now and see her smile and hear her laugh. I thank her and her family for all of the fantastic memories they have given us.  We will all deeply miss her.

With deep sympathy and love,
Michael and Kathy Ortman
